Danny Moeskops, the World Champion designed these rods for smooth clean beaches, fixed spool and multiplier reels and progressive casting styles. It has a place in any specialist’s armoury and its easily compressed action delivers good presentation and deceptively long range. We have received very flattering feedback from satisfied anglers who reckon this rod cannot be 14’ as it has the feel of one much shorter. The arc it prescribes during the cast gives confidence and fishing is a whole new experience. Two versions with a slightly more powerful model to cater for stronger tides and heavier leads.

Century Carbon Metal

The Century C M (Carbon Metal) has surprised everyone who has tried it. The rod picks up the bait and propels it at great velocity via all casting styles and the tip recovers instantly ready to read the smallest bites or the hardest take. The clever tapers both in the mandrel and carbon metal fibres create power bands that alter the action to suit the venue and prey species. Cod, pollack, tope, conger, mullet and bass have all fallen to the CM during its 18 month development, which has taken it to the depths of Loch Fyne, the rocks of Tynemouth and the smooth beaches of North West. Built with the toughness of AutoClaving and new advanced materials at a sensational price.

Century Carbon Metal Black Bird

Century Carbon Metal Black Bird

BB signifies “BlackBird” – (Danny asked if we could and named after the legendary Lockheed S71 fast, long range strategic aircraft!) - is a well thought out progression of an existing principal - originally favoured by Continental anglers. Longer rods for lighter line fishing to cast big distances “at a stroke”
The BB reduces the need to develop advanced casting styles and can help deliver considerable extra distance without changing from the most common overhead casting styles. It is thus easier to upgrade from rods where the angler has already developed certain skills and just wants get down to the serious business of fishing. We have worked extensively on the design of BB and in the process achieved a World Record cast of 229m using fixed spool reel.

Global warming and commercial over fishing are driving traditional fish stocks away from existing habitats towards deeper and cooler waters. This has influenced our design thinking and we are looking to satisfy enthusiastic shore anglers who wish to pursue their sport under these changing conditions. Species such as pout, sea bass, John Dory and red mullet are increasingly populating more northerly latitudes and this presents new opportunities for dedicated designs like the Carbon Metal BB. We have received positive feedback on BB’s power to weight ratio and this benefit inevitably assists the roving angler.

The BB is highly effective using fixed spool or multiplier reels. We recommend 6lb - 10lb lines on fixed spool and 10 - 20lb lines on multiplier. (use fingerstalls on fixed spool)

The CM Express is an alternative development of the CM that has been refined at UKSF and SIPS World Championships, taking a new fixed spool reel - World Record in the process. (100gram - 0.28mm line - distance 225m)

Barney Wright a leading UKSF caster and sea angler has a recorded cast of 239 metres on 125 gram weight at UKSF using Multiplier reel and has used the rod extensively for his fishing. One of the primary aspects he likes is the parabolic C curve the rod proscribes when fully compressed rather than the J curve of faster actions. This means that it is less critical on timing and release of the cast. Bite detection is superb and the rod tip is stable in stormy conditions.

The CME reduces tiredness and can be repetitively cast without strain and has received exemplary reviews by knowledgeable anglers and casters.

Century Carbon Metal SRE (Sea River Estuary)

Century has spent over a year working with Danny Moeskops - World Casting Champion - leading Continental sea angler - designing Carbon Metal SRE. Available in two lengths 5.00m and 4.60m - it is a well thought out improvement of an existing principal - originally favoured by Continental anglers.

Century Carbon Metals have established an outstanding track record with sea anglers and although these new SRE's are a departure from OTG and Pendulum style casting rods - the distances available to overhead casters is substantial. Danny Moeskops has introduced several innovative ultra high modulus carbon fibre "accelerators" into the design to give high tip speed without the need to pre compress the tip before releasing energy stored in the butt. The bite detection from little rattles by small flatfish and slack liner bites are more than obvious.
The 3 section SRE is for lighter fishing conditions and clearly does not have the huge hauling capability of the big Kompressors. This is reflected in the recommended line sizes of 6lb to 8lb
Variable reel positions on the butt are available using the Century winch fitting with SS Coaster. Light and easy to use at 5.00m and also available at 4.60m for less powerful casters. SRE 4.60m has staggered butt and same middle and tip as 5.00m.

    Century Carbon Metal Crest

The Century Carbon Metal Express has become one of the most desirable sea rods and undoubtedly has gained many friends since it was released in early 2004. In 2006 it was voted by the readers of Total Sea Fising - the best sea rod.

Century has spent over a year working with Danny Moeskops - the world distance casting champion and a passionate angler - designing the Carbon Metal Crest (CMC) . The new rod is a well thought out progression of the existing principals so well established in Carbon Metal Express (CME) with the emphasis on really rough ground fishing.

In accordance with Century's design principals - the focus is very much based on performance and ease of use. Selected carbon fibres - that are unobtainable in mass manufacturing markets due to international regulations - are used extensively in Century's rods and these grades of carbon in conjunction with Autoclaving give the CMC outstanding performance both with fixed spool and multiplier.

Century Carbon Metals have a well-established track record with anglers and the new CMC consolodates the range.

The benefits from using the new CMC:

Very long range, pendulum, OTG or overhead casting using fixed spool or multiplier reels.
Classic CME style action. Easy to compress and deliver bait at distance.
Designed to handle rough ground, weed and kelp. Real hauler.
Variable reel position using Century winch fitting with SS Coaster.
Original action retained over long term retained due to Autoclaving.
Light and easy to use with a casting ratio of 125 to 200 grams.

The CMC is finished in black and red metallic tyings over tough and proven Fuji BNHG guides. Distinctive Carbon Metal silver grey composite finish at top of butt section. Black Japanese shrink rubber grip. Special hand grip at base of tip. Supplied with Century rod case

    Century Tip Tornado Ultra Lite

The Ultra Lite has deceptive power despite its fine dimensions. There are many times when a standard beachcaster outguns the conditions. Inside calm estuaries, harbours and sea lochs there is a definite need for light gear which brings finesse to the situation. Changes within sea angling including variation in population numbers of many species means more fishing is done from the shore in summer style conditions. For small, plentiful fish the Ultra Lite brings big advantages including the use of lighter lines and bait presentation is smooth without the jerking action imposed by stiffer rods. Pressure on smaller hooks is also improved because the cushioning effect of the tip and bite sensitivity is better than ever. The new Ultra Lite is great news for the angler who still wants to cast 4ozs and really enjoy a light high performance rod when bigger bonus fish are taken.

Perhaps you want a rod that is ideal for schooling Bass, the solitary lunker or even a super slim scratching rod to win a match: don’t forget heavy float fishing, spinning or deadbaiting – it’s the master of these too. Some have said it’s the best Estuary rod available. The limits are undefined. The Match has a more flowing through - action for easy loading up during the cast and this also helps to prevent covering the beach with your precious bait. The big benefit to the pleasure angler and match angler alike is that it still retains the stable, super sensitive tip, which gives good bite detection. The Match is versatile because it is easy to handle and covers a wide variety of conditions. The rod was prototyped on the Sound of Mull, Western Highlands. It really rattled dogfish and conger in depths of over 300’ with powerful tides. A proven Home and International Match winner when a gentle lob of a big pork pie size crab bait into the back of the breaking surf got the desired results. The Super Match has been evaluated for over 20 months before release. It’s been fished and tested in the most rigorous and demanding conditions and subjected to our full development checklist. Surprisingly the design is based on a slightly more powerful butt than the sport and a “tippier” tip than the Match! Bringing this all together in a coherent design has been challenging but – we know that we have a versatile, super sensitive rod that is pinpoint in feel and is a real pleasure to use. Century Kompresor SS Sport

The Century Kompressor SS and S are two highly technical and evolutionary rods.

Technical because they incorporate advanced composite engineering benefits only available at Century. The Kompressor SS and S models are two piece equal sectioned and 13’10” long. The Gearbox Design in the butt section caters for a wide range of casting ratios. The Kompressors are Autoclaved for action retention. Designed, tested and approved by Danny Moeskops incorporating many of the latest technical features that have dominated the casting and marine fishing scene.

Evolutionary - because they take forward one of the most legendary names in sea rods. The new lower diameter 25mm butt section, enhanced action, ergonomic grips and tougher finish is user friendly and durable. The new Kompressors have evolved into what Danny has cited as “the best Century has ever made” - for easy delivery of a wide range of baits and weights at range.

Both Kompressors have a casting ratio of 125 – 200 grams.

The Kompressor S is a direct equivalent in performance to the existing Sport and SS version has a stiffer butt and enhanced Gearbox Design to facilitate casting and hauling over rougher ground.

The WR300 is so named after achieving a new UKSF and World Record record cast at Huntingdon, England in May 2002 on 150gm (5.25 ozs) weight. The exact distance was 301.43 yards. The fundamental design is also the proud holder of 125gm (4oz) and 175gm (6.25 oz) records at 287.35 yards and 297.89 yards respectively. The first rod ever to cast over 300 yards at UKSF Grand Prix. Many had said it could not be done and many had tried for years. Autoclave Technology, Gearbox Design and the remarkable dedication of Danny Moeskops have achieved this awe-inspiring set of Records. Now what’s that all got to do with angling and what benefits does it bring you? Simple – Century set out to produce a true fishing rod because the style of casting used in the arena of Tournament casting is not that different to practical sea fishing – just add a whole load of practise and dedication. Using heavier lines and to combat with tough conditions the Gearbox gives terrific control during the compression stage of the cast and brings feel on the retrieve through dense kelp and over rough ground. The WR 300 is a user friendly, practical sea-angling rod that will lift your aspirations to the highest levels. It will retain its casting and fishing parameters long after others have given up the ghost.

    Century C Curve

Century C Curve - Ccc, Triple C is designed to give low weight, durability and a defined casting action coupled with a competitive price.

The Ccc is built on a 7/8" mandrel and the outside diameter is just over 1" (26mm). The action of the rod is designed to prescribe a curve that looks like a letter C when under full compression but the tip recovery is very quick. This accelerates the lead and bait to greater distance when pure fishing time over rides the need to spend months perfecting advanced casting skills. The prototypes and design feedback has all been through Danny Moeskop's hands and as you would expect from a man of his experience - his seal of approval means that you are assured of a competent fishing tool.

The overall weight of Ccc is 750 grams (26 ¾ ozs) including the special Century reel seat and stainless coaster. It feels very light in the hand and balances well.

We have applied Autoclave Technology for long term durability and action retention. The Ccc is built using this same advanced system that has helped create world casting records.

This design is very much focused at match anglers who need distance and occasionally need to put out 175 gram lead plus bait. The Ccc's are very capable on mixed ground - pebble beaches with occasional weed beds and boulders. Great for venues such as Holderness, Isle of Man and beaches of southern Ireland. In fact anywhere where conditions are not too severe. Typically for use with lines of 0.28 to 0.35mm. Much of the development phase for the Ccc's was completed by Danny at Pwllheli beach on Llyn Peninsular -Wales. These rods are quite capable of bringing in treble shots of smuts (dogfish). They have also proven very effective when encountering smooth hound and fast running tope.

The Ccc has the familiar Century cabon metallic look on the butt section with a very slight Artic blue tint built into the weave.

The Ccc comes with the Century adjustable reel seat and reducer for low reel position.

The highly adaptable Century reel seat locates the reel in any position on the butt. The EVA caps slide with the fitting to prvent the ingress of sand and debris.

The joint is a reverse fit and precision ground for years of use. A hand gripof Japanese shrink rubber gives additional purchase when inserting and disassembling the rod.

Available in two lengths 5.00m and 4.60m - it is a well thought out improvement of an existing principal - originally favoured by Continental anglers. <EM>Century Carbon Metal</EM>s have established an outstanding track record with sea anglers and although these new <EM>SRE</EM>'s are a departure from OTG and Pendulum style casting rods - the distances available to overhead casters is substantial. This is reflected in the recommended line sizes of 6lb to 8lb Variable reel positions on the butt are available using the Century winch fitting with SS Coaster. Light and easy to use at 5.00m and also available at 4.60m for less powerful casters. SRE 4.60m has staggered butt and same middle and tip as 5.00m. Blank Colour: AL2 Carbon Factory Finish: Century SiC Casting Ratio: 4-6oz 125-175gm Butt Diameter: Tapered Length: 17’ (5.20m) 15’ (4.60m) RRP of the 4.6m £289.00 & the 5.2m is £296.00 <H4>Century Carbon Metal Crest</H4> The <B>Century Carbon Metal Express</B> has become one of the most desirable sea rods and undoubtedly has gained many friends since it was released in early 2004. In 2006 it was voted by the readers of Total Sea Fising - the best sea rod. Century has spent over a year working with Danny Moeskops - the world distance casting champion and a passionate angler - designing the <B>Carbon Metal Crest</B> (CMC) . The new rod is a well thought out progression of the existing principals so well established in <EM>Carbon Metal Express</EM> (CME) with the emphasis on really rough ground fishing. <EM>Century Carbon Metal</EM>s have a well-established track record with anglers and the new CMC consolodates the range. The benefits from using the new CMC: Very long range, pendulum, OTG or overhead casting using fixed spool or multiplier reels. The <B>Century Carbon Metal Crest</B> is finished in black and red metallic tyings over tough and proven Fuji BNHG guides. Distinctive Carbon Metal silver grey composite finish at top of butt section. Black Japanese shrink rubber grip. Special hand grip at base of tip. Supplied with Century rod case <EM>Century Carbon Metal Crest</EM> - SRP blank £ 225 and SRP £296.00 rod. <H4>Century Tip Tornado Ultra Lite</H4> The <B>Century Tip Tornado Ultra Lite</B> has deceptive power despite its fine dimensions. Blank Colour: Black Butt: 79.5” (2.02m) Factory Finish: WO-BBAG Casting Ratio: 3-5oz 85-150gm Butt Diameter: 0.75” (1.91cm) Length: 13’ (3.96m) Tip: 76.5” (1.94m) RRP is £ 215.75 <EM>Century Tip Tornado Ultra Lite</EM> <H4>Century Tip Tornado Lite</H4> Always looking for a way to stay ahead of the curve - Century has stayed in front with the <B>Century Tip Tornado Lite</B>. If you want a rod that will cast 5 ozs overhead from the rocks or blast 4 ozs pendulum style from the shore this is the rod for you. Tolerant of conditions except the heaviest ground. The complex construction, born out of years of Tip Tornado heritage means that it is not only practical but also a pleasure to use. Derived from a SAMF Finals Winner and is a versatile 3-5oz-specialist sport fishing rod. Blank Colour: Black Butt: 72.5” (1.84m) Factory Finish: WO-BBAG Casting Ratio: 3-5oz 85-150gm Butt Diameter: 0.90” (2.29cm) Length: 13’ (3.96m) Tip: 82.5” (2.10m) RRP is £ 236.10 <EM>Century Tip Tornado Lite</EM> <H4>Century Tip Tornado Match</H4> The <B>Century Tip Tornado Match</B> has a more flowing through - action for easy loading up during the cast and this also helps to prevent covering the beach with your precious bait. Imagine what this versatility could bring to you. Blank Colour: Black Butt: 72.5” (1.84m) Factory Finish: Fuji BNHG Casting Ratio: 4-6oz 125-175gm Butt Diameter: 0.90” (2.29cm) Length: 13’ (3.96m) Tip: 82.5” (2.10m) RRP is £ 296.55 <EM>Century Tip Tornado Match</EM> <H4>Century Tip Tornado Super Match</H4> The <B>Century Tip Tornado Super Match</B> has been evaluated for over 20 months before release. It will appeal to the match specialist who banks on winning and delight an angler who wants accuracy and needlepoint sensitivity without all the action focused purely in the final few inches of a tip. Blank Colour: Black Butt: 72.5” (1.84m) Factory Finish: Fuji BNHG Casting Ratio: 4-7oz 125-200gm Butt Diameter: 0.90” (2.29cm) Length: 13’ (3.96m) Tip: 82.5” (2.10m) RRP is £ 301.05 <EM>Century Tip Tornado Super Match</EM> <H4>Century Tip Tornado Sport</H4> The <B>Century Tip Tornado Sport</B> has reached “state of the art” status in the light of hard won experience and decades of fishing. The butt slices through the air and in storm conditions the rod is stable and very secure. A positive Tournament pedigree with victories at UKSF Masters Final casting 150gm and 125gm up to 264 yards. The Sport has a powerful butt, strong lower tip and a fast finish. Described by Alan Yates as one of the best fishing rods he had the pleasure of reviewing - the Sport is capable of casting one, two or three baits plus 175gms - huge distances. Tip stability and bite detection are superb and it is sensitive even when scratching close in. Blank Colour: Black Butt: 72.5” (1.84m) Factory Finish: Fuji BNHG Casting Ratio: 4-8oz 125-225gm Butt Diameter: 0.90” (2.29cm) Length: 13’ (3.96m) Tip: 82.5” (2.10m) RRP is £ 303.90 <EM>Century Tip Tornado Sport</EM> <H4>Century Kompressor Sport</H4> Obedient, servile, then you hurl out this whooping great cast and your reel makes the sort of music you will have played at your funeral. Connect and haul. It all seems so easy. How can something that only weighs 28ozs (790gm) deliver a quarter of its own weight so far and exert so much pulling power? Autoclave Technology, years of experience on the beach, custom mandrels, the latest electric rolling tables and more than a little attention to detail. The <B>Century Kompressor Sport</B> is the great all rounder and you do not need to be a mighty pendulum warrior to get results. Easy action in the tip focused into a progressive GearBox butt. Blank Colour: Gunmetal Butt: 74” (1.87m) Factory Finish: Fuji BNHG Casting Ratio: 4-7oz 125-200gm Butt Diameter: 1 ” (2.54cm) Length: 13’ (3.96m) Tip: 82.5” (2.10m) RRP is £303.45 <EM>Century Kompressor Sport</EM> <H4>Century Kompressor WR300</H4> The <B>Century Kompressor WR300</B> is so named after achieving a new UKSF and World Record record cast at Huntingdon, England in May 2002 on 150gm (5.25 ozs) weight. Blank Colour: Gunmetal Butt: 74” (1.87m) Factory Finish: Fuji BNHG Casting Ratio: 4-8oz 125-225gm Butt Diameter: 1 ” (2.54cm) Length: 13’3” (4.03m) Tip: 85.25” (2.17m RRP is £329.60 <EM>Century Kompressor WR300</EM> <H4>Century Kompressor Match</H4> “The <B>Century Kompressor Match</B> seemed to be an extension of mind and body… I was already onto uncharted mainline” Words from an independent review. The Kompressor Match has a progressive build up of power and suits most beach and rock conditions. The match delivers three important benefits. It gives you the facility to put a baited trace or flapper with 125gm to 170gm to where the fish are, it is immensely satisfying to use and it will really haul. Ideal for smoother conditions where weed is sometimes a problem and tides can exert pressure on the tip. Blank Colour: Gunmetal Butt: 74” (1.87m) Factory Finish: Fuji BNHG Casting Ratio: 4-6oz 125-175gm Butt Diameter: 1 ” (2.54cm) Length: 13’ (3.96m) Tip: 82.5” (2.10m) RRP is £296.55 <EM>Century Kompressor Match</EM> <H4>Century C Curve - Ccc, Triple C</H4> is designed to give low weight, durability and a defined casting action coupled with a competitive price. The <B>Century Ccc</B> is built on a 7/8" mandrel and the outside diameter is just over 1" (26mm). The overall weight of <EM>Century Ccc</EM> is 750 grams (26 ¾ ozs) including the special Century reel seat and stainless coaster. The principal difference is diameter hence LD - Low Diameter. The C3 LD is based on a 3/4" mandrel and the outside diameter is 7/8" (22mm). The action of the rod is very similar to Ccc and designed to produce a curve that looks like a letter C when under full compression. The tip recovery is very quick and accelerates the lead and bait to greater distance when pure fishing time over rides the need to spend months perfecting advanced casting skills. The prototypes and design feedback has all been through Danny Moeskop's hands and as you would expect from a man of his experience - his seal of approval means that you are assured of a very competent fishing tool. The rod diameter can have a significant impact on which model to use according to your personal hand size and preference. The overall weight of <B>Ccc LD</B> is 750 grams (26 ¾ ozs) including the special Century reel seat and stainless coaster. It feels very light in the hand and balances well. Autoclave Technology applied for long term durability and action retention. The Ccc LD has the familiar Century cabon metallic look on the butt section with a very slight Artic blue tint built into the weave. The build, joint and reel seat is similiar to Ccc and comes with the Century rod case.
