Shimano Corvalus

When you replace a well established favorite as the Corsair you better make sure it is perfect. Perfect is exactly what the new Corvalus is. A versatile multiplier with built in level wind, it is ideal for freshwater trolling and can also cast & retrieve an array of lure styles in the medium to heavy category. Variable Brake System (VBS) keeps overruns to a bare minimum. Ergonomic thumb bar spool release enables instant casting to moving targets or quick release when trolling.

There are four versions available, two sizes of both left and right handed retrieve.

Shimano Cardiff

The Shimano Cardiff is the essence of what a small multiplier should be. Strong, responsive and easy to use it is built with a die-cast aluminium frame and a machined aluminium spool for strength. The reel's responsiveness lies in Super Stopper anti-reverse as well as a high 5.8:1 gear ratio perfectly suited to fish lures which require a high-speed retrieve and instantaneous hook sets. Complete casting control is achieved thanks to Shimano's Variable Brake System (VBS).

There are five versions available, three sizes two of which are left  handed retrieve.

Shimano Citica 201D

This baitcasting reel is as versatile as they come. An all rounder that casts with ease no matter which lines you prefer, light to medium lures can be worked with devastating efficiency courtesy of an array of features. There's an aluminium spool and body, Super Stopper and Variable Braking System to prevent backlash. Four ball bearing plus a roller bearing.

Shimano Calcutta 400B & 400BSV

The new Calcutta B series, like its predecessor is constructed from a cold forged aluminium frame, side plates and spool, which create a strong frame with tighter tolerances. The reels also feature the Variable Brake System (VBS) that uses centrifugal brake weights to aid cast control. All reels feature Shimano's A-RB stainless steel ball bearings, Super Stopper to eliminate back play and enable solid hooksets, and a Dartanium drag. These larger versions of the reel also have the benefit of a clicker that increases the tension on freespool and activates a 'fish-on' clicking alarm as well as having 3-position Power Grips that allow for three different hand positions for various fishing techniques.  The CT400BSV is designed without a top crossbar or level wind to provide better access to the spool and improved casting ability.

Shimano Calais

The Calais is the flagship of Shimano's low profile multiplier series. With 10 A-RB bearings and 1 roller bearing (thats the equivalent to 13 to 14 bearings), the Calais is as smooth as it looks. An easy access side plate allows the VBS system to be tuned quickly whilst the star drag with Dartainium drag washers means the clutch adjustment is just a turn away. Other features include Greesless Spool Support Bearings that reduce friction on the cast, Cold Forged Handle shank, Metal Series frames (keeping moving parts in precise alignment), and Super Stopper.

The original Calais A low profile reel was introduced with special features such as easy side plates, VBS brake system and dartanium drag. Shimano have now introduced two digitally controlled models - capable of creating their own electricity to power the magnetic brake system to avoid over runs. In addition to this unique feature, the calais DC is fitted with a precise working drag system, which uses Dartainium drag washers for total control in extreme conditions.

Shimano Calcutta DC (Digital Control).

The Calcutta DC features 8 different pre- programmed braking patterns based on lure and casting type. With this technology, each of the braking patterns provide awesome control of the feeding of the line, by applying the ideal amount of braking force at critical intervals. As a result, it is possible to achieve long, accurate casts with consistent backlash control. the application of the "smart" braking by the digital control system quickly stabilizes the spool rotation. Digital Control varies the amount of braking force depending on line tension, minimizing the chance of the dreaded backlash. The increased RPM's provided by the Digital Control System ensure longer casts. At the same time, the pre-programmed braking patterns allow for not only easy, external adjustment for any situation, but also an extremely manageable cast with less backlash. Overall, the Digital Control Braking System means further casts, less effort, less backlash, and easy quick adjustment.
